Sergey in the Mountains (2013-06)

My friend Sergey. He's such an athlete, as well as an artist. He wants to be free and to explore the world, so for the first stop on his tour, I put him in some mountains. I think of this as being in China, but I suppose it could be anywhere. You can view the inspiration photo compared to this in my Before+After album. He's a bit beefier in the arms here (not on purpose) and maybe a little oddly balanced. The fun little touches for this include the bending shadow and the movement strokes around the feet. The mountains are just blobby brushed oils.
